Champagne Gamet is a family estate shaped by generations, where vines share the land with orchards, grains, and bees. From their hillside vineyards on both sides of the Marne, Marianne and Jean-François Gamet are expanding their family’s vision while reviving traditions, honoring biodiversity, and deepening their connection to the land that sustains them.
Their cider project is rooted in this spirit. Inspired by their great-grandfather, who made cider in Fleury-la-Rivière after the war, Marianne and Jean-François have returned to their family orchards to craft small-production, méthode ancestrale cider from organically farmed fruit. This bottling blends 80% Avrolles, a tart, local variety, with a mix of bittersweet cider apples like Harry Masters Jersey, Dabinett, and Chanteline. Fermentation finishes in bottle, capturing a natural sparkle.
The result is lively and off-dry, with notes of apple skin, lemon zest, orchard floor, and a whisper of spice. Medium tannins and acidity give the cider shape and freshness, while a gentle mousse lifts the finish. It’s thoughtful, joyful, and deeply rooted in the biodiversity that defines this next generation of Gamet farming.
