A wonderfully exciting project that demonstrates the intersection of family history and youthful innovation. While the vines of the Ogereau family were planted in the late 1800’s, it was three generations until the domaine started bottling their own wine. Emmanuel, the fourth generation, is now making the wines and is bringing his own style to the project. Organic and biondynamic techniques in the vineyard, no botrytis on the dry wines, slow pressing, and a focus on micro, terroir-driven bottlings are amongst the changes young Emmanuel has brought to his family’s winery.

Here we have cabernet franc on sandstone schist planted between the 1950s and 1980s. With a touch of whole cluster and infusion style maceration of the fruit (no pump overs or breaking of the cap), this wine rests in tile-lined tanks for a year before being bottled.

This wine is expected to be available to ship by mid November.
