2022 Thibaud Boudignon, Anjou Blanc, À François(e), Loire Valley, France

We come together around the idea of saying “yes”: A small word that contains everything.

Named in tribute to Thibaud’s late mother, this wine is crafted from his most prized parcels in Anjou and made only when the quality meets his highest personal standard. The vineyards—planted densely on shallow soils of grey schist and volcanic rhyolite—yield a powerful yet composed expression of chenin blanc.

Where Savennières often shows its structure through nerve and minerality, Anjou can lean into breadth and layered generosity—especially in the hands of a vigneron like Boudignon. À François(e) channels that depth while retaining his signature restraint. There’s no malolactic fermentation, which preserves sharp definition and crystalline tension. The nose offers layers of green mango, pineapple, and orchard fruit, with subtle spice and a deft smokiness. On the palate, it’s deep and polished, walking a tightrope between texture and lift, with a long, savory finish edged in citrus and stone.

This is Boudignon at his most exacting: a chenin of poise, stature, and emotion built to age for years to come.
