Pierre-Yves Colin’s wines are god-tier, alongside other Burgundian deities such as Jean-Marc Roulot and Jean-Francois Coche-Dury. Working with his wife Caroline Morey and their sons Mathis and Clément, they grow 70% of their grapes themselves and source otherwise from highly trusted neighbors (and only from those who will harvest on the dates he stipulates). The 2022 Saint-Aubin Hommage à Marguerite 1er Cru is a captivating blend of four premier cru vineyards—Perrière, Créots, Les Combes, and Pitangerets (part of Les Combes)—crafted with the precision and artistry that define PYCM. Dedicated to Pierre-Yves' grandmother, this special cuvée offers a deeper sense of place and complexity, standing out even within his acclaimed Saint-Aubin lineup. 

The wine opens with a beautifully expressive bouquet. This aromatic profile is both refined and enticing, hinting at the layers of complexity that strike that perfect note between balance and vibrancy. Elegant and focused, it is showing more tension and precision than the regular Saint-Aubin. Subtle flinty notes lend an appealing edge to the ripe stone fruit flavors, while the finish is long, mineral-driven, and impeccably poised. The seamless integration of texture, acidity, and minerality showcases the best of what Saint-Aubin has to offer.
