Luis Oberrauch farms just 5,000 vines in the South Tyrolean village of Ora, many of them pergola-trained and over 50 years old. With deep roots in the region and a fiercely hands-on approach, he crafts elegant, small-production wines from indigenous varieties that are bottled unfined, unfiltered, and that are unmistakably Alpine in character.
His rosé is a brisk, bright expression of lagrein, showing up delicately colored, vibrant, and full of mountain freshness. Juicy red berries lead the way on a soft yet energetic palate, laced with refreshing acidity and a clean mineral streak from the gravelly soils of the low hills around Ora.
Effortless but not simple, this is Alpine rosé at its most authentic. This is a pure, unfussed wine made for warm afternoons, antipasti, or a plate of delicate crudo.
