Luis Oberrauch farms just 5,000 vines in the South Tyrolean village of Ora, many of them pergola-trained and over 50 years old. With deep roots in the region and a fiercely hands-on approach, he crafts elegant, small-production wines from indigenous varieties that are bottled unfined, unfiltered, and that are unmistakably Alpine in character. Drawn from Luis’s oldest pergola-trained vines, this is a deeper, more contemplative expression of lagrein. Aromatically complex, it shows dark cherry, pumpernickel, cocoa, and alpine herb. The palate is savory and polished, held together by fine tannins and bright, driving acidity.
An elegant, grounded red that feels structured but unforced, and an ideal match for braised meats or aged cheeses.
