2022 Famille Ogereau, Clos le Grand Beaupréau, Savennières, Loire Valley, France

We come together around the idea of saying “yes”: A small word that contains everything.

A wonderfully exciting project that demonstrates the intersection of family history and youthful innovation. While the vines of the Ogereau family were planted in the late 1800’s, it was three generations until the domaine started bottling their own wine. Emmanuel, the fourth generation, is now making the wines and is bringing his own style to the project. Organic and biondynamic techniques in the vineyard, no botrytis on the dry wines, slow pressing, and a focus on micro, terroir-driven bottlings are amongst the changes young Emmanuel has brought to his family’s winery.

Hailing from the highest hill of Savennières and planted on sand and schist, this wine is a newer addition to the family’s wines, having been acquired in the early 2000s. Similar to the other chenins in the cellar, this ages in a combination of oak barrels and stoneware amphora before being blended for the best that this vintage has to offer.

This wine is expected to be available to ship by mid November.
