We come together around the idea of saying “yes”: A small word that contains everything.

If you want to see a Burgundy lover light up, mention Jean-Marc Roulot. Though Domaine Roulot has been a standard-bearer in the region shortly since its founding in 1830, Jean-Marc (at the helm since the 1980s) is famous for championing terroir expression by way of pure, perfectly ripe fruit. There are few wines and winemakers more iconic. Today the domaine is revered for its precise interpretations of Meursault’s slope, shaped by old vines, organic farming since 1989, and highly detailed cellar work that reveals each site with exceptional clarity.

Les Luchets is one of the domaine’s six lieux-dits, a term used in Burgundy to identify long-established vineyard parcels with distinct histories, exposures, and soils. While not classified as premier cru, these named sites often hold deep cultural and viticultural significance, and at Roulot they serve as an essential study in Meursault’s internal diversity. Les Luchets lies lower on the slope than Tillets but shares its lifted profile, combining higher natural acidity with a fuller mid-palate presence.

In 2022 the wine shows a concentrated, finely sequenced character that reflects the strength of the vintage, carrying fleshy citrus, firm mineral structure, and an energetic core that promises graceful development. It stands as one of the most complete expressions among Roulot’s village-level holdings and a clear example of how the domaine’s lieux-dits can rival more elevated classifications in both depth and detail.
