The Del Comune di Monforte is a newer addition to the LaLú lineup — a commune-level Barolo that blends fruit from multiple organically farmed sites within Monforte d'Alba, including the estate's high-altitude Bricco Giubellini parcel at 530 meters, where Diano sandstone soil contributes aromatic precision. Fermentation is spontaneous, in open-top vessels, with partial destemming; aging takes place in large Garbellotto conical casks, no fining or filtration. The 2022 vintage offered warmth and generous acidity in equal measure, and the wine reflects the breadth of its sources: sour cherry, wild rose, dried herbs, and an extended streak of salinity. More immediately expressive than the single-cru Le Coste, it is a wine suited both to the table now and to the cellar through the early 2030s and beyond.
