Elise Bougy is one of the new generation of Champagne vignerons—passionate to press against the prevailing dictums of Champagne in search of new ways to make vibrant, expressive wines. She has 3 hectares of 1er cru and grand cru holdings spread between Montagne de Reims and the Côte des Blancs and she farms these organically and biodynamically, and bottles the plots separately, seeking to understand the different terroir expressions of her vineyards. The greatest care is taken in the cycle of farming to harvest to vinification and the wines show this with singular particularity.

This cuvée comes from Chétillon de Haut which sits directly across the road from Pierre Péters’s famed Les Chétillons. The terroir is pure chalk. The finest chardonnay grapes from this vineyard were selected and vinified for this edition of the Blanc de Blanc. This wine is like the most perfectly sunfilled white cloud in a blue sky. Airy yet held in perfect demarcation. A wine of light and unseen structure.
