2020 Zuccardi, Poligonos del Valle de Uco, Cabernet Franc, San Pablo, Tunuyan, AR

We come together around the idea of saying “yes”: A small word that contains everything.

What started in 1963 as a project to showcase Alberto Zuccardi’s innovative irrigation system has evolved over the course of three generations into one of Argentina’s most visionary estates. Zuccardi marks the first Argentine wine brand to earn three 100-point scores from Robert Parker and our first Argentine wine offering.

Director of winemaking Sebastián Zuccardi joined the family business in 2002, and immediately looked to the Uco Valley—high-altitude vineyards at the foot of the Andes, where alluvial soils rich in calcium carbonate combine with extreme diurnal temperature shifts to produce wine of rare intensity and elegance.

This Cabernet Franc sourced from San Pablo, a chilly alluvial terroir between 1200 and 1700 meters above sea level, is fermented in concrete, then aged in used, untoasted 500-liter French oak barrels and 2500-liter foudres. Lovely fruit character in the glass, with notes of tart cherry, roasted red pepper, and rosemary. Subtle tannins and vibrant acidity throughout. An incredible pairing night for a weekday dinner, perfect with everything from tacos to burgers to meaty fried rice. Enjoy again and again, anytime before 2029.
