2020 Zuccardi, Finca Las Cerrilladas, Malbec, Gualtallary, AR

We come together around the idea of saying “yes”: A small word that contains everything.

What started in 1963 as a project to showcase Alberto Zuccardi’s innovative irrigation system has evolved over the course of three generations into one of Argentina’s most visionary estates. Zuccardi marks the first Argentine wine brand to earn three 100-point scores from Robert Parker and our first Argentine wine offering.

Director of winemaking Sebastián Zuccardi joined the family business in 2002, and immediately looked to the Uco Valley—high-altitude vineyards at the foot of the Andes, where alluvial soils rich in calcium carbonate combine with extreme diurnal temperature shifts to produce wine of rare intensity and elegance.

Subtle but powerful, this wine is sourced from a 32-hectare estate (about half of that being native vegetation, rather than vines) at 1,400meters in Monasterio. Fermented and aged in concrete, it opens with notes of black cherry, graphite, and sage, evolving into plum, lavender, and sea breeze. Pristine acidity and polished tannin throughout. James Suckling and Robert Parker both awarded this 97 points. Enjoy now through 2035.
