A wonderfully exciting project that demonstrates the intersection of family history and youthful innovation. While the vines of the Ogereau family were planted in the late 1800’s, it was three generations until the domaine started bottling their own wine. Emmanuel, the fourth generation, is now making the wines and is bringing his own style to the project. Organic and biondynamic techniques in the vineyard, no botrytis on the dry wines, slow pressing, and a focus on micro, terroir-driven bottlings are amongst the changes young Emmanuel has brought to his family’s winery.

Within the Clos le Grand Beaupréau there is a section of vineyard that has almost no topsoil—where the vines planted directly into sandstone bedrock. This section is picked and vinified separate from the rest of the site. Aged in large oak foudre for a year, each bottle carries this message to the final home (and glass) to be enjoyed: "The state in which man, lifted by a higher power, feels himself capable of creating."

This wine is expected to be available to ship by mid November.
