2020 Corentin Houillon, Veronnet Blanc, Savoie, France

We come together around the idea of saying “yes”: A small word that contains everything.

Corentin Houillon’s story starts with some of the most iconic names in natural wine—Pierre Overnoy, Emmanuel Houillon, Stéphane Tissot, Dominique Derain—but the voice he’s carving out in Savoie is distinctly his own. After years apprenticing with the masters and making wine in Switzerland, Corentin returned to the French Alps to begin his solo project in the tiny village of Chautagne, just minutes from the Curtets. There, on a steep, forest-wrapped slope of molasse soils, he farms five hectares of altesse, jacquère, gamay, pinot noir, and mondeuse—all certified organic, all worked by hand.

Veronnet Blanc is a co-fermented blend of altesse and jacquère, aged on the lees in concrete to preserve purity while building texture. It’s a wine shaped by altitude and intent—fresh and alpine in tone, with a salty-mineral line and a gentle echo of herbs. Think lemon peel, wet stone, and a hint of mountain air. The kind of wine that drinks like snowmelt and lingers like a memory.

Corentin’s first release was only in 2019, and already his work is drawing attention for its quiet precision and vibrancy. As ever, only a small amount makes it to the U.S.—we’re thrilled to be able to share it.
