2019 Zuccardi, Finca Los Membrillos, Semillon, Paraje Altamira, AR

We come together around the idea of saying “yes”: A small word that contains everything.

What started in 1963 as a project to showcase Alberto Zuccardi’s innovative irrigation system has evolved over the course of three generations into one of Argentina’s most visionary estates. Zuccardi marks the first Argentine wine brand to earn three 100-point scores from Robert Parker and our first Argentine wine offering.

Director of winemaking Sebastián Zuccardi joined the family business in 2002, and immediately looked to the Uco Valley—high-altitude vineyards at the foot of the Andes, where alluvial soils rich in calcium carbonate combine with extreme diurnal temperature shifts to produce wine of rare intensity and elegance.

The traditional white variety of the Uco Valley, this Semillon is fermented with native yeasts then aged for two years in untoasted French foudres and barrels. With notes of quince, grapefruit pitch, beeswax, and pulverized gravel, it shows a long, saline finish and almost startling acidity throughout. Awarded 95 points by critic James Suckling, this will be a beautiful and memorable bottle to open anytime between now and 2036.
