Champagne Geoffroy is a fifth-generation grower estate deeply rooted in the premier cru village of Cumières, where nearly four centuries of family history have unfolded on the chalky slopes above the Marne. Today, Jean-Baptiste Geoffroy carries that legacy forward by farming 14 hectares by hand, ploughing instead of spraying, pressing with traditional Coquard presses, and moving juice by gravity from cellar to barrel. His wines are precise but never clinical. These wines are alive with texture, tension, and the kind of calm confidence that only time can teach.

Les Tiersaudes is one of the domaine’s most compelling expressions of meunier. From a single parcel planted in 1972, the vines grow low and steady on the sloping soils of Cumières, where the fruit ripens slowly and evenly. The wine is fermented and aged in neutral oak, aged three years on lees, and bottled without dosage or malolactic, capturing meunier in its purest, most vertical form.

The 2019 vintage is striking: red berries, crushed herbs, citrus zest, and warm chalk lift from the glass with a kind of savory brightness. There’s texture here, but also incredible lightness in a fine, peppery mousse and a mineral spine that draws the wine to a long, deliberate finish. Meunier this fine is a rarity.
