Champagne Geoffroy is a fifth-generation grower estate deeply rooted in the premier cru village of Cumières, where nearly four centuries of family history have unfolded on the chalky slopes above the Marne. Today, Jean-Baptiste Geoffroy carries that legacy forward by farming 14 hectares by hand, ploughing instead of spraying, pressing with traditional Coquard presses, and moving juice by gravity from cellar to barrel. His wines are precise but never clinical. These wines are alive with texture, tension, and the kind of calm confidence that only time can teach.
Les Collinardins is one of those rare sites that surprises you. Tucked into a steep slope above the village of Damery, the vines here were once intended for still wine. But with time, Jean-Baptiste saw something more. The old chardonnay vines grow low to the ground, producing small, golden bunches that capture both ripeness and restraint.
Aged in barrel and bottled without dosage, the 2019 vintage is generous and precise where brioche, chalk, toasted hazelnut, and orchard fruit weave together in a Champagne that feels at once full of life and utterly composed. The mousse is delicate, the finish long and stony, and the wine itself a kind of quiet crescendo. This is the kind of Champagne that rewards attention…and then gently steals it.
