2019 Gamet, Bas-Bauchets, Blanc de Noirs, Brut Nature, Champagne, France - PRE ARRIVAL

We come together around the idea of saying “yes”: A small word that contains everything.

Champagne Gamet is a family estate shaped by generations, where vines share the land with orchards, grains, and bees. From their family’s hillside vineyards on both sides of the Marne, Marianne Gamet crafts wines that reflect not only terroir, but the rhythm of a life rooted in the land. Farming is in their bones, and the Champagnes feel like part of something larger, unforced, and vivedly alive.

Their eight hectares are spread across Mardeuil, Fleury-la-Rivière, and Damery. These villages are graced with varied exposures and soils that lend each cuvée its own quiet character. Fermentations begin with native yeasts, aging unfolds in both tank and barrel, and the cellar work favors touch over intervention. It’s Champagne made with a farmer’s patience and a winemaker’s eye for detail—thoughtful, textured, and true to its origins.

Bas-Bauchets is a single-vineyard Blanc de Noirs from a parcel in Damery planted in 1969 on clay-limestone soils with a touch of sand. Fermented and aged in demi-muids, the wine completed malolactic fermentation and spent 36 months on the lees before being disgorged without dosage. The result is a striking expression of old-vine meunier, something we can’t help but imagine that drinking rose gold must be like. There’s a subtle richness, a certain verve, and layers of light and texture. This is a champagne with clarity, depth, and a sense of place that can’t help but be fully alive in the glass.
