95pts James Suckling
Tatjana Peceric’s journey into wine began not in a vineyard, but on stage. As a member of a traditional Serbian dance troupe traveling through France, she experienced firsthand the alchemy of food and wine—the way one lifts the other, creating something greater than the sum of its parts. It was a revelation, powerful enough to change her path entirely. She redirected her future toward winemaking, studying oenology before earning a master’s in viticulture and pomology in France and Germany.
Years of winemaking in Priorat and Montsant followed, with Tatjana serving as oenologist at Terroir al Limit while also crafting wines of her own under Coreographia and, with her partner, Terroir Sense Fronteres. Across all her projects, she champions organic farming and minimal intervention in the cellar, bringing a deft hand to Spanish wines made in an ancestral style—lighter, more aromatically delicate, yet deeply expressive.
Previously labeled Pas de Deux, this Montsant represents the heart of Tatjana Peceric’s Coreographia project. It is both an homage to Montsant’s lesser-known heights and a celebration of the expressive grace of its native varieties. Sourced from a friend’s biodynamically farmed vineyard in Cornudella, the northernmost and coolest village in the DO, the fruit comes from 50- to 60-year-old vines rooted in red clay and gypsum at 700 meters above sea level.
The approach is intuitive and low-intervention. Garnatxa ferments with a touch of garnatxa gris in amphorae, while carinyena ferments separately in stainless steel. Both undergo gentle, foot-powered maceration and are aged for six months in their original vessels. There is no destemming, no oak, and no filtration. The goal is a pure and vibrant expression of mountain-grown Montsant. The result is lithe and lifted, with wild red berries, grapefruit peel, and the savory edge of sun-dried herbs. Tannins are fine and integrated, and the finish is long and stony. This is Montsant in a brighter spectrum, showing elegance, clarity, and an unmistakable energy.
