2021 Dujac Fils et Père, Morey St. Denis, Burgundy, France

We come together around the idea of saying “yes”: A small word that contains everything.

Domaine Dujac, run by the Seysses family, is internationally renowned for their delicious and expressive Burgundy, lauded as not only varietally correct, but in fact “intimate travelogues of some of the most celebrated sites on earth.”

The domaine, purchased by Jacques Seysses in 1967, and now run by his family after decades of Jacques’ trailblazing work, has always prioritized terroir expression, both in the bottle and in the vineyard. Their Dujac Fils et Père label was created in 2000 to provide more accessible wines, using fruit purchased from trusted neighbors, but with the same quality standards as estate bottlings. They even harvest their purchased grapes themselves, ensuring that the grapes are picked and sorted to the family’s standards.

With notes of black raspberry, bay laurel, and rose petals, and a dusting of cocoa powder and freshly cracked black pepper, this is compelling now, and will be jaw-dropping when cellared for up to a decade.
