2021 ConcaEntosa, Isola Dei Nuraghi, Disco Volante, Palau, Sardinia, Italy

We come together around the idea of saying “yes”: A small word that contains everything.

ConcaEntosa wines find life out of the sun-bleached granite of northern Sardinia. You can feel in these wines the great light of the mediterranean and the salty sea breezes. Emanuele Ragnedda is an apostle of vermentino. Believing that the grape, pared with the old stone of the island, can make a white wine with the power and complexity to rival the greatest white wines of the world. The winery is named after a warrior clan that worshipped the sun and the sea. His vineyards criss cross the land, surrounded by the Sardinian Giant’s Tombs. Eerie reminders of the long, long history that the vine roots draw from. The grapes are harvested with great care by hand and fermented in temperature controlled tanks before being aged in a combination of stainless steel and used oak.

2021 ConcaEntosa, Isola Dei Nuraghi, Disco Volante, Palau, Sardinia, Italy comes from 10-30 year old vermentino vines in extremely limited quantities. This is ConcaEntosa’s greatest wine, somehow funneling the huge power of the light and the sea into an artful juice. The light in the wine blazes with aromas of ripe peaches and yellow pears, Sardinian lemons and oranges, pastry, sea salt, and sun-dappled granite. What a wine!
